IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hello Everyone,

It's Randy, the designer of the OCULUS Deck. Mike and I recently made an important decision to switch Production Companies from Hanson Chien Productions Co. to The Expert Playing Card Co. Both production companies use the same Printer, so the finished Decks will be EXACTLY the same as we envisioned (minus the switch of production company names on the Tuck Box and Ace of Spade). The Decks will still be printed with the Taiwan printer, and the Cards will still have the great Classic Finish.

I have had over 20 years of experience with Print Production during my day job as Senior Designer for Motive Marketing. So I know when a production pipeline is running smoothly or not. The OCULUS production has not been running smoothly. Mike and I have no ill will towards Hanson Chien Productions, and we will be compensating him monetarily for the work he did do for the campaign. But we felt we needed to make the switch to ensure that the OCULUS Deck was overseen with the best care possible and had the smoothest production pipeline available. I have had previous experience with Expert, so I trust their experience and knowledge.

The change is mostly behind-the-scenes specific. It looks like we'll still hit the February estimated delivery date. I always add a month to the actual delivery date I think we can attain for a project, just in case any unforeseen complications like this may arise.

BACKERKIT

We have the OCULUS BackerKit all setup and ready to go. Everyone should be receiving their BackerKit invites within the next few days! BackerKit is where you will supply us with a Shipping Address for your item(s), specify which Add-Ons you added extra funds for during the Kickstarter campaign, and add any extra Add-On Items you may want.
 We will be closing the BackerKits when the finished Decks leave Taiwan for the slow boat to the U.S. (probably sometime in early January). That is when any new orders will be charged within BackerKit.
 Mike and I will continue to update you throughout the stages of production.

Digital Proofs Approved!

Hope everyone is doing well. Over the weekend we received the digital proofs from HCPC and they look great! We are still waiting on the Kickstarter funds to arrive, but thought you'd like to know where we are in the process of everything. Have a look!

Here we are 34 days and 2 stretch goals later! Thank you all so much for the support and helping bring these cards to life! Seriously can’t thank you all enough!

What’s next?

Over the next couple days we need everyone that had payment issues to fix those in order to prevent Kickstarter from dropping you as a backer. Be sure that your personal info is all updated to make everything run smoothly as we begin the 2 week waiting period for funds to be transferred to us. Once they’ve been transferred we will keep you updated throughout the production process and fulfillment. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

After giving it a couple days to make sure we stayed above $14K, it’s official and HCPC has been sent the files for the tuck that now include both UV spotting and embossing!

MINIMUM PRICING CHANGE on DIECUT Stickers

Hey Everyone,

It's Randy again. So, we've been talking over the cross promo feedback we've received, and I will admit I was WRONG. I did a similar cross promo a couple years ago with Vanda Playing Cards. Vanda and I went with the $24 minimum because it was the 2-Deck pricing mark, and because of the high cost of the premium freebie items.

I'm not used to planning for a 1-Deck project, and part of me forgot how cheaply we priced the OCULUS Deck! So, we are going to change the minimum for the FREE Stickers to $16 per project. The $16 will cover any OCULUS Backers with 2 Decks or more (including the 2-Deck EARLY BIRD Backers). The Diecut Vinyl Stickers are a premium item, and are not cheap, but I will take the hit for my bad judgement.

I wish it could be a freebie for every Backer of each project, but that's just not possible with the high price of the Stickers.

I'm sorry it took me all day to realize it!
